Deutsch: Der Afghanistan-Krieg kann nicht gewonnen werden! Ganz einfach! Obendrein wird der Krieg auch noch unzureichend geführt: Es existieren weder ein Worst-Case-Szenario noch eine Exit-Strategie. Das heißt, man hat sich keine Gedanken darüber gemacht, was man tut, wenn die Situation sich plötzlich dramatisch verschlechtern sollte, bzw. wie man langfristig aus der Situation herauskommt. Das aber sind die Grundvoraussetzungen für eine verantwortungsbewußte militärische Intervention. Die Regierung in Berlin dagegen nimmt die Warnungen der militärischen Kommandeure im Land, des BND und unseres Botschafters in Kabul einfach nicht zur Kenntnis, sondern opfert sie bündnispolitischen Erwägungen.
English: The Afghanistan war cannot be won! Quite simply! On top of that, the war is being conducted inadequately: There is neither a worst-case scenario nor an exit strategy. This means that no thought has been given to what to do if the situation should suddenly deteriorate dramatically, or how to get out of the situation in the long term. But these are the basic prerequisites for responsible military intervention. The government in Berlin, on the other hand, simply does not take note of the warnings of the military commanders in the country, the BND and our ambassador in Kabul, but sacrifices them to alliance policy considerations.
